“We are Temple Middle School.”

At an early age I learned the value of hard work on my parents’ farm in Bowdon. They provided exemplary character and work ethics and always instilled the importance of doing one’s best, with excellence as the expectation. Today, I still carry those standards with me as I serve as the principal of Temple Middle School.

After graduating from Bowdon High School as the Valedictorian of my class, I began the next phase of my education at West Georgia College where I attained an Associates degree in Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.  After working as a Charge Nurse at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton for several years, I then began my career in education as the Healthcare Technology teacher at Central High School. During this time, I completed courses at Valdosta State University and received my Master’s degree in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education. After leaving Central I worked at Bay Springs Middle School as a Connections teacher and then moved on to Villa Rica High School where I served as a Media Specialist for four years and as an Assistant Principal for three and a half years before moving to Temple Middle School as the Assistant Principal during November of 2010. During this period I attained my add-on certification in Educational Leadership from Jacksonville State University and my Educational Specialist degree from Liberty University. I am currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Liberty University and anticipate graduating in the spring of 2018.

I became principal of TMS in June of 2011 and feel very proud to be the leader of the students and staff here. I take pride in seeing many of the changes that have taken place since I have been at the helm and look forward to seeing our students become wise, productive citizens in our very rapidly changing world.

“We have Tiger Pride.”
