Angel Tree Volunteers Needed Angel Tree Project Volunteers It is time for our annual Angel Tree Project!! Would your family enjoy celebrating the season of giving by assisting needy families? Isn’t it rewarding to meet a child’s Christmas needs/wishes? The need is greatest during the winter months as many parents struggle with increased heating bills, food costs and Christmas gifts. It is heartbreaking that many parents will not have resources available to surprise their children with clothes, food, and holiday toys. We are excited to tell you about some changes we have made within our community project. We are working hand-in-hand with some of our local churches to make sure the many needs are met this Christmas. With the downturn of our economy, we realize that more children than ever will need our help. One of our local churches has established contacts that allow bulk purchases of food and clothing at very good prices. For example, the church can purchase a girl's outfit from The Children’s Place for $3.00 each. Isn’t that fantastic? Food donations are accepted year round at Temple United Methodist Church and your continued support of our annual food drives at the local schools is always appreciated. You may also call Donna or Connie at Harrison Realty 770-562-9843. This year, you may sponsor one or more children as you have done in the past or you will have the option of monetary contributions. Based on Mt. Carmel Baptist Church’s contacts, your monetary contributions will allow us to help you sponsor many more children as we can stretch the dollars significantly. Which ever option you choose is much needed and greatly appreciated. GUIDELINES: Option 1: Angels are asked to purchase one set of clothing, shoes and underwear, and one toy under $25.00. Gifts should be delivered (unwrapped) to Temple Middle School on or before December 8, 2008. Information about sizes will be sent to volunteers before the Thanksgiving break. Option 2: Monetary donations of any amount may be sent to Temple Middle School by December 8, 2008. Checks should be made payable to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Please notate Angel Tree Project on your check. Donations are tax deductible.
